Chi Fulin Attends 2025 Tea Party of Healthy China 50 Forum
On February 12, 2025, the “Healthy China 50 Forum 2025 Lantern Festival Tea Party,” organized by the Healthy China 50 Forum and the Organizing Committee of the China County Economy Development Conference, takes place at the Fangyuan International Art Village in Haikou. The theme of the meeting is “Prospects and Transformation.” Professor Chi Fulin, President of CIRD, is invited to attend and delivers a keynote speech during the "Global Trends" session.
In his speech, President Chi focuses on the theme of "Revitalizing Consumer Confidence through Structural Reform" and explores four key questions: “Is insufficient consumer demand a prominent issue in the current macroeconomic landscape?”, “Is boosting urban and rural residents’ consumption confidence mainly about increasing investment in people?”, “Is human-centered investment a major task in structural reform?”, and “Is structural reform the fundamental solution to insufficient aggregate demand?” President Chi emphasizes that the lack of consumer confidence and the instability of consumption expectations remain significant causes of insufficient overall demand in China’s macroeconomy. To address this pressing issue, the key lies in advancing structural transformation and structural reform with a focus on "people”.
Dr. Wang Hongsen, a postdoctoral researcher of CIRD, accompanies President Chi at the event.
